The DIATER team at stands 32–34 during the 50th SEAIC Congress, sharing science, innovation and social commitment, while supporting the ANATHA project to help improve access to education in Cambodia.
During the congress, the 2nd DIATER and SEAIC Foundation Awards were presented, recognising academic and research excellence among young professionals and students in the field of allergology. The call for applications included work defended during the 2024–2025 academic year, with the application period open from May to July 2025.
The following awards were presented in this edition:
- The “Dr Ricardo Palacios” National Award for the best doctoral thesis in allergology, with a prize of €5,000: Dr Laura Argiz Álvarez.
- National Award for the Best Bachelor’s Degree Final Project (TFG) in Allergology, with a prize of €1,500:María de la Alegría Duque Bayón; as well as two runner-up awards of €300 each: Paula Arnáez Rodríguez and Kenza El Ouzzani.
In addition, at DIATER we reaffirmed our commitment to corporate socialresponsibility by collaborating with SEAIC’s Social Responsibility and Solidarity Committee to help fund the ANATHA project, run by the NGO SAUCE (Solidaridad, Ayuda y Unión Crean Esperanza). With more than two decades of experience working in Cambodia, the organisation strives to improve living conditions and access to education, healthcare and inclusion for people with disabilities in rural communities.
The ANATHA project specifically promotes access to education for children in rural areas of Battambang by providing means of transport —such as bicycle —, school materials and support for families, helping children to continue their education. In recent years, the initiative has benefited more than 300 students and their families, helping to reduce school dropout rates and create meaningful opportunities for the future.
Through these three areas of action —research, recognition and solidarity— at DIATER we continue to work towards generating a positive impact in both the scientific and social spheres, contributing to higher-quality allergy care and a fairer, more accessible future.
